More and more, I find people opening up to incorporating more plants into their diets and eating less meat, but they are overwhelmed by the prospect by overhauling their diet altogether. There are small changes you can make daily that add up to a big difference in helping the animals, our planet, and your body. Start by switching out a few animal based products for vegan versions. The vegan switch outs below are easy and more flavorful than their non vegan counterparts.
I have been eating Earth Balance instead of butter long before I went vegan. They have an assortment of flavors (Olive Oil, Omega-3, Soy Free, and more), and they also come in sticks for baking!
There are tons of vegan cream cheeses out there, but my #1 recommendation is Kite Hill’s Chive Cream Cheese Style Spread. It’s better than any dairy chive cream cheese I have ever had.
Tofutti is my #1 choice for sour cream. I use it on my tacos, and latkes come Hannukah without any nostalgia for the dairy version.
I have never been a marshmallow fan… until I went vegan. Dandies are so good that I eat them without anything else, but of course, they make the perfect vegan s’more. Right now, they have a pumpkin variety that is delicious. Dandies are available in mini’s and regular size.
